Great post Jim. I am torn by similar sentiments but am not as gifted in my immediate porch community. That is something I am working on but a fragmented life has left me with not much of a personal base of friends in any physical location. It is a challenge for someone who loves community and has been searching for his tribe. Zaadz fills some of that need but there is a big hole to fill in the need to 'see and feel, kiss and spank'.
The picture you posted for this blog is so very appropriate! Many feel a need to be something they are not when it comes to the internet. Of course that does not have much to do with your blog, but it does for the picture.
Through zaadz friendship, I have gotten to know the love of your life and your friends, John and Doug. Might I add, you are RICH man for having them in your life. For friends are priceless!
That is so true and at first no one knew I was a doug either but I thought “what the heck just be what you are, what do you have to loose”.
If I was a musician and I was able to express all of me, everything I ever wanted to say through music then it would seem silly to write a book. And how many people are so empathic that when face to face with another become a mirror instead of a window?
Many more find that words from the heart flow much easier through fingers then through tongue and lip, to say nothing of the artists who may not utter a single word but say more then can be said.
When stories began to be written down the story tellers were concerned that books and writing would change the world. They were right too; the world did change.
Church of the Porch happens daily … right where you are … right where we meet … both here and there. Come one, come all … come and sling up with us on the bed at Church of the Porch. Get fed, get spanked, get happy, get sad, get REAL.

Amen to that! Thanks so much for sharing. I've stopped seeking teachers and these days am simply accepting lessons. What a difference!
Not that I would urge you to do anything outside of your innate character or desires – but golly. What a great post. Causes me to think and be grateful. If you ever do it again, I'll be among the first to be moved to thought and gratitude by it.
